Competition Held to Select Contenders at Iran-Oman Armies Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s Defense Ministry hosted a competition on Tuesday to select memorizers to represent the country’s armed forces in a Quran competition between the armies of Iran and Oman.

 

A number of prominent Quran masters, including Mohammad Reza Abolqassemi, Ali Farbin, Amir Aqaei and Esmail Akefi evaluated the performance of the participants, Hassan Farahani, director of the Defense Ministry’s Dar-ol-Quran Center said.

Asked whether the friendship Quran competition between the armies of Iran and Oman will be held this year, given the coronavirus outbreak, he said it had been scheduled for May but has been postponed.

The contest is annually organized either in Iran or Oman to enhance friendship between the armed forces of the two countries.
