Nat’l Quran Memorization Plan Begins for Iraqi Women
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Dar-ol-Quran of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine organized the preliminary stage of a national Quran Memorization Plan for Iraqi Women.
According to qafqn.org, Amal Al-Matouri, head of the section for women’s Quranic activities of the Astan, said that 389 female Quran memorizers participated in the preliminary stage’s Quran examination at four levels.
Memorization of the entire Quran, and memorization of 20, 10 and 5 Juzes (parts) of the Quran were the four levels of the examination.
Top participants will make it to the national level, which will be held in the near future.
Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.
There has been a growing trend of Quranic programs such as competitions, recitation sessions and educational programs held in the country in recent years.
