 Al-Ghadir Nat’l Quran Contest Held in Iraq

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final stage of Al-Ghadir national Quran competition in Iraq was held with the participation of 66 women Quran memorizers.

 

According to quran.imamali.net, the Dar-ol-Quran of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine organized the virtual competition for women from August 4 to 6.

Dalal Al-Tabatabai, head of the women section of the Quranic centerو said that 193 Quran memorizers competed in the preliminary stage, in the categories of memorization of 30, 20 and 10 Juzes (parts) of Quran.

The contest was supervised by a group of female Quran experts in various fields of memorization, recitation, Sowt, Lahn, Waqf and Ibtida.

The “Al-Ghadir” national competition was one of the Quranic programs of the center that are held for women on different religious occasions.

Promoting the Quranic skills of the country’s Quran reciters is the main objective of the educational program.

Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.

There has been a growing trend of Quranic programs such as competitions, recitation sessions and educational programs held in the country in recent years.
