TEHRAN (IQNA) – A specialized panel was held on Sunday evening on the sidelines of the 29th Tehran International Quran Exhibition to discuss Quranic diplomacy.

Titled “Explaining Quranic Diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in International Arena; Aims and Strategies”, the session was attended by a host of experts including Ali Reza Moaf, the Quran and Etrat Deputy of the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mehdi Mostafavi, deputy international affairs of the office of the Islamic Revolution Leader, and Mohammadreza Bahmani, deputy scientific and cultural affairs of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.

Addressing the event, Mostafavi pointed to verse three of Surah Al-Imran which reads “All of you united hold fast to the rope of God”. He noted that the Holy Quran is this rope that God has offered to us so that we can put our lives on the correct path.

Diplomacy, he continued elsewhere, means to interact with others for transferring purposes. “Diplomacy is a power-related indicator and the Holy Quran is one of the meaning-based components for attaining power in the international field; because it is connected to God who is the Omnipotence.”

Quranic diplomacy establishes a connection with all people who believe in divine prophets, revelation, and the Day of Judgment, he said.

A number of guests also address the event via video links.

According to officials, a total of 20 international such sessions are set to be held in this year’s exhibition.

The 29th edition of the expo kicked off on Saturday and runs for two weeks. The Imam Khomeini Mosalla (prayer hall) in the capital will host the Quranic event.

It will be open to visitors every day from 5 PM to midnight.

With the motto of “Quran, Book of Hope and Calm”, the exhibition will be held with 45 sections set up in an area of 40,000 square meters.

The Tehran International Quran Exhibition is annually organized by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the holy month of Ramadan.

The exhibition is aimed at promoting Quranic concepts and developing Quranic activities.

It showcases the latest Quranic achievements in the country as well as a variety of products dedicated to the promotion of the Holy Book.

In 2020 the expo was called off and in 2021 it was held virtually due to the coronavirus restrictions in the country.
