Official Urges Translating Books on Iran’s ‘Sacred Defense’

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An official with Iran’s Book and Literature House Institute called for translating books about the Sacred Defense into different languages.

Speaking at a press conference about the upcoming Sacred Defense national book fair on Tuesday, Hossein Safari said the people of the world are willing to know more about the braveries of Iranian fighters in the 1980-1988 Iraqi-imposed war on Iran, which is known as the Sacred Defense.

He said books about Sacred Defense, resistance, and the steadfastness of the Iranian people are popular in different countries.

He added that people in other countries are also curious to know about the Islamic Revolution and the character of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.  

Safari also said there are plans for financial help to publishers in foreign countries that publish translations of books about the Sacred Defense.

The head of Iran’s Foundation for the Preservation and Publication of Sacred Defense Works and Values, Abdol Reza Azadi, also spoke at the press conference, saying the Sacred Defense is a brilliant and unique page in the history of Iran and the Islamic Revolution.

“During the Sacred Defense, we managed to experience self-confidence and showcase the Islamic Iran’s dignity and introduce to the world the Iranian nation’s great epics in defending the aspirations of the Islamic Revolution,” he added.

He also referred to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s describing of the history of the Sacred Defense as a treasure, and said stressed introducing this great treasure to the future generations.  

One of the capacities for introducing his great treasure to the youths, the society and the world is the capacity of arts, he went on to say.
