Hazem Qassem said large numbers of people are expected to take part in the celebrations, the movement’s website reported.

He said the achievements and stances of Hamas, the issue of Al-Quds and its Islamic and Christian sanctities, and the situation of Al-Aqsa Mosque will be among the themes of the programs.

The spokesman noted that in these celebrations, emphasis will be laid on the support from Hamas for the Palestinian nation’s uprising in the West Bank and the people’s efforts to regain their lands and their rights, such as the right to return.

Hamas, which was founded in 1987 under the leadership of Abdul Aziz Rantisi and Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, aims to end the Israeli occupation and liberate all Palestinian lands.

The movement has played a major role in forcing the Zionist regime out of the Gaza Strip and supporting the Palestinian people’s uprising against the occupiers.
