TEHRAN (IQNA) – There is a group of people in Muslim society who benefit from the interests of the community but disappear when it comes to damages. These people are the factor behind the destruction of solidarity in society.

Quran teacher Hani Chitchian

This is according to Hani Chitchian, a member of the Quran and Etrat School of the University of Tehran, speaking in the 16th session in a series on Surah At-Tawbah. Following are excerpts from his remarks in the session:

“Nothing prevents their offerings from being accepted except that they do not believe in Allah and His Messenger. They do not come to the prayer except lazily and spend grudgingly.” (Surah At-Tawbah, verse 54)

The next verse of the Surah reads: “Let neither their wealth nor their children please you. Through these Allah seeks to punish them in this life, and that their souls depart while they are unbelievers.” The above-mentioned group becomes wealthy because of their behaviors. This will lead others to raise questions about the source of this wealth.

The Holy Quran says rest assured that Allah will use their wealth as a punishment. They will not have an easy death.

“They swear by Allah that they belong with you, yet they are not of you. They are a nation that are afraid.” (Surah At-Tawbah, verse 56)

They will act in a way that others would believe their words. These people are continuously seeking shelter to escape costs and save only themselves. Maybe this is one of the forms of punishments in this world. These are people who destroy the solidarity of Muslim society because of putting personal interests above others.
