Sheikh Naim Qassem said the region is moving toward reconciliation, stability and political solutions and the thaw is Iran-Saudi relations is a manifestation of that, Al-Alam news network reported.
The agreement reached by Tehran and Riyadh had seemed like a dream given the complexities involved, but it was achieved thanks to a brave decision taken by both sides, he said.
Sheikh Qassem added that Iran and Saudi Arabia want to cooperate in order to bring stability to the region, which is in the interest of the two countries and the entire region.
He also stressed that with this agreement, it is now the Israeli regime that is considered by all regional countries to be the real enemy.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Hezbollah official said that the axis of resistance should remain vigilant and enhance its capabilities.
After several days of intensive negotiations hosted by China last month, Iran and Saudi Arabia clinched a deal on March 10 to restore diplomatic relations and reopen embassies and missions within two months after seven years of estrangement.
According to a joint statement, Iran and Saudi Arabia underscored the need to respect each other’s national sovereignty and refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of one another.
