Scientific miracle is among the main aspects of the Quran’s miracles in today’s era. Many verses of the Quran refer to scientific issues. Since some of these issue had not been discovered at the time of the Quran’s revelation and people found about them only centuries later, they are considered as a part of the Holy Book’s miracle.
The Quran is a book that does not lose its freshness with the passage of time, but the more science advances, the more the secrets of the Holy Book are discovered and the more its verses shine brilliantly. This is not an assertion but a fact.
Here are a few examples of the Quran’s scientific miracles:
1- The earth being prepared by rain for growing crops
“Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. We send down abundant water, and let the earth to break open to yield therein corn, grapes, (and) vegetables.”
The surface of the earth was first covered with stones. Then, for millions of years, there were recurring rains that broke the stones into pieces and created soil that was good for agriculture. This is what continues to happen today and it is a fact that the Quran pointed to hundreds of years ago.
2- Plants being in pairs
“It is He who stretched out the earth and placed upon it firm mountains and rivers. And of all fruits, He has put in it two pairs and drew the veil of night over the day. Surely, in these there are signs for a nation who think.” (Verse 3 of Surah Ar-Raad)
Swedish botanist Carl von Linné (1707-1778) found in the 18th century that being in pairs is an almost universal rule in the world of plants while the Quran had highlighted this fact centuries earlier.
