Disabled Muslim Student Hospitalized in India after Allegedly Attacked by Hinu Extremists

NEW DELHI (IQNA) – A Muslim student with physical disabilities was hospitalized after he was allegedly attacked by Hindu extremists.

Farooque Alam is a PhD student at Jawaharlal Nehru University.

He needed hospitalization after an alleged attack by Hindu nationalists, according to the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI).

The NSUI says he was attacked by members of the ABVP, the student wing of the Hindu nationalist RSS organization.

Alam has previously spoken out against the RSS and the governing BJP party.

The ABVP has dismissed the allegations as fabricated and claimed its members were not involved.
