WASHINGTON, DC (IQNA) – The 8th Annual Muslim Youth Leadership Symposium will be held on Monday, September 25, at the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

8th Annual Muslim Youth Leadership Symposium

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has issued a final call to all aspiring young leaders in the Washington, DC metropolitan area to register for the symposium.

Registration will close promptly at 4 PM Eastern Time this Friday, September 22, 2023. The registration cutoff time will ensure participants secure a spot on the event’s special tour of the US Capitol.

Muslim youths aged 13-19 can take part at the event.

CAIR’s sponsored #MYLS2023, with the theme “Sustainable Activism: Cultivating Change for Long-Term Impact,” is set to empower and educate Muslim youth aged 13 to 19 about the power of activism and its enduring impact.

Activism is a formidable tool for positive change, but it comes with its own set of challenges, including burnout, fatigue, and resource limitations. This year’s program has been meticulously designed to equip participants with practical strategies to foster lasting change. Attendees will gain insights into building resilience, overcoming setbacks, and maximizing resources to create a sustainable approach to activism.

Over more than a decade, CAIR has organized youth leadership programs across the US, with many past participants going on to become respected community leaders, activists, community organizers, and youth advocates.
