What Prophets Asked God for

TEHRAN (IQNA) – In order to fulfil their mission, divine prophets asked God for help and some of their prayers is mentioned in the Quran.

Here are some of the things the divine messengers asked God for:

1- Expansion of breast (ability to face difficulties and adversities)

“’Lord’, said Moses, ‘expand my chest’.” (Verse 25 of Surah Taha)

2- Making tasks easy

“And ease my task for me.” (Verse 26 of Surah Taha)

3- Easing the spread of message

“And loose the knot from my tongue so they may understand what I say.” (Verses 27-28 of Surah Taha)

An interesting point here is that what Prophet Moses (AS) asks God for in these verses, God gave Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) without him asking:

“Have We not expanded your chest for you (Prophet Muhammad), and (have We not) relieved you of your burden?” (Verses 1-2 of Surah Al-Inshirah)
