TEHRAN (IQNA) – Salah is among the key acts of worship that has a special relation with the concept of resurrection.

Saying prayers

People can be divided into a number of groups regarding their belief about resurrection:

1- Some have doubts about it: “O people, if you are in doubt about the Resurrection, remember that We first created you from dust,…” (Verse 5 of Surah Al-Hajj)

2- Those who know: “Who know that they shall meet their Lord and that they shall return to Him.” (Verse 46 of Surah Al-Baqarah)

3- Those who are certain: “… who have strong faith in the life hereafter.” (Verse 3 of Surah An-Naml)

4- Those who deny it: “… and rejected the Day of Judgment” (Verse 46 of Surah Al-Muddaththir)

5- Those who have faith in it but forget it: “Surely, a terrible punishment awaits those who stray from the Path of Allah, because they forget the Day of Reckoning.” (Verse 26 of Surah Saad)

The Holy Quran offers reasoning to remove doubts, lauds the believers and those who know there will be a Resurrection Day, and calls on deniers to present reasons for their denial. As for the fifth group, the Quran points to reminders so that they will not forget the Day of Judgment.

Salah is related to the Resurrection Day in that it removes doubts and turns negligence about the Resurrection Day to remembering it. By uttering at least ten times a day the phrase “Master of the Day of Judgment” (Verse 4 of Surah Al-Fatiha), one reminds himself of the Day of Judgment again and again.
