Brunei Nat’l Quran Contest: Semifinals to Begin Monday

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (IQNA) – Brunei’s National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Adults will enter the semifinal stage on Monday.

The semifinals will be held from November 6 to 8 from 8am to noon and from 1.45pm at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas.

The results will be announced and prizes and souvenirs presented to contestants and judges on November 9 at the same venue.

Some 54 participants comprising 43 male and 11 female will compete in the semi-final round.

The competition will be broadcast live on the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ social media.

Brunei is a sovereign state located on the north coast of the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia.

Islam is Brunei’s official religion and nearly 70 percent of the population is Muslim.
