The Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science announced the names of winners on Sunday.
As many as 1,638 male and female contestants participated in the competition’s seven levels, which are as follows: Level 1 for memorizing the entire Holy Quran; Level 2 for memorizing 24 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran; Level 3 for memorizing 18 consecutive parts; Level 4 for memorizing 12 consecutive parts (on condition that the competitor was born in 1998 or afterwards); level 5 for memorizing 6 consecutive parts (for those born in 2009 and afterwards); Level 6 memorizing 4 consecutive parts (for those born in 2013 or afterwards) and Level 7 for memorizing 2 consecutive parts (for those born in 2016 or afterwards).
During the award ceremony, whose date will be announced later, the top three winners from each level of the competition will be felicitated, while incentive prizes will be dedicated to top three finishers from each level other than the top three.

The competition is aimed at encouraging Omanis to memorize the Holy Quran and pursue the guidance of its teachings, in addition to enhancing the presence of the Sultanate of Oman in international Quranic contests.
