Top Quran Memorizers, Qaris to Receive Student Allowance: Iran’s Awqaf Organization

IQNA – Iranian university students who are reciters or memorizers of the Quran will receive student allowances.

The Quranic Affairs Center of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization announced this, noting that the allowances will be given to the qaris and memorizers who have won ranks in Quran competitions.

Those students who have received specialized memorization or recitation certificates can also benefit from the allowances.

It will be paid at the beginning of each semester and its amount varies for those studying at different academic levels.

In recent years, Quranic activities have significantly developed in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Since the 1979 victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Quranic activities have been high on the agenda of the Islamic Establishment.

The government has attached great importance to encouraging Quran memorization and recitation, spreading Quranic teachings and promoting contemplation on Quranic concepts.
