Young Muslim students in Blackburn competed in the annual football tournament at the Soccer Dome, raising money during the event to support the people of Gaza.
It was organized by Hafiz Asif Iqbal and Hanif Premi from Blackburn’s Ghosia mosque. The event attracted 100 student from madrasahs across the borough.
“The aim of the tournament was to bring the community together and showcase the unity with the different madrassahs in the town,” organizers told Lancashire Telegraph.
“It was a lovely day and there was lots of passion from the players.”
The tournament thrilling end saw Ghosia Galacticos defeat Faizan e Raza 3-2 as medals and trophies were handed out by senior mosque representatives.
The money raised will support relief efforts for the people of the Gaza Strip suffering under Israeli war for about three months.
