The three-day event, organized by the Muslim American Society (MAS) and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), is expected to attract thousands of Muslims from across the United States and Canada.
In one of the sections of the convention, Quran memorizers and reciters compete in different categories including the memorization of the entire Quran.
The convention, which is held under the theme, “AT THE CROSSROADS: Faith, Vision & Resilience,” features a variety of lectures and workshops for adults and youth, led by acclaimed speakers such as Dr. Omar Suleiman, Sh. Suhaib Webb, Sr. Dalia Mogahed, and Sh. Yasir Qadhi.
The event also offers a huge bazaar with more than 500 booths, a carnival for children, and entertainment sessions.
The convention aims to provide a platform for American Muslims to learn, network, and celebrate their faith and culture. It also seeks to address the challenges and opportunities facing the Muslim community in the current social and political climate.
The convention takes place at McCormick Place, the nation’s largest convention center, located in downtown Chicago.
The event has grown significantly since its inception in 2001, when it had only 1,500 attendees. After a break in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the convention resumed in 2022 and broke attendance records with 30,000 participants.
