Quran Mushaf Written by Female Calligraphers Unveiled in Qom

IQNA –  A Mushaf which has been written down by a host of Iranian female calligraphers has been unveiled in Qom, Iran.

 

The unveiling ceremony was held on Thursday in the central Iranian city with a host of officials and religious scholars in attendance.

The Mushaf has been written down by 26 female calligraphers with the process taking a year.

The initiative was organized by Darolketabeh which is affiliated to the Iranian Center for Printing and Publication of the Holy Quran.

Head of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom, Ayatollah Seyyed Hashem Hoseini Bushehri, was one of the speakers who noted that writing the Quran and reciting the verses should be followed by implementing its guidelines.

"We should not limit ourselves to the apparent aspect of the Quran but we should pay attention to its concepts," he said.

"Reading and watching the verses brings rewards for sure but, the supreme rewards come when we understand the concept and implement what it says," added the scholar.

At the end of the ceremony, the calligraphers were presented with gifts for their contribution in the project.
