Hojat-ol-Islam Mehdi Ghodrati, director general of the province’s Islamic Development Department, said the city will host the event on Thursday, January 18.
He said 22 activists will be honored at the closing ceremony of the art, cultural and scholarly festival, which will be attended by local, national and international figures.
The ceremony had been planned to be organized in the Lebanese capital of Beirut but was relocated to Khorramabad due to the recent developments in the region.
The festival has featured various activities and programs related to the ritual of Itikaf.
Itikaf is a tradition of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his family, and is regarded as a highly rewarding act of worship in Islam.
