IQNA – Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance announced the launch of a center for the translation of the Holy Quran.

This is according to Ali Reza Moaf, Quran and Etrat Deputy of Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, who made the remarks in a press conference on Monday in Tehran.

In the press conference, the ministry officials unveiled 14 Quranic achievements and initiatives.

One of the initiatives is the “establishment of the Islamic Republic’s National Quran Translation Center,” Moaf said, noting the activities of the center began as of Monday.

The center will have a translation council comprised of top masters, he added.

Another initiative introduced at the event was the “Quran-Based Governance Charter of Culture and Art.”

“Culture Ministry should be guided by Quranic principles and concepts; while it may pose challenges, achieving this goal is feasible,” Moaf said, adding, “The process is already underway, with a document centering on implementing Quran in the Ministry in the works for over a year.”

“This document outlines the specifics of how cinema, theater, and other arts can align with Quranic principles,” the official said. 

Another introduced initiative seeks to encourage Quran activists to be more active on social media, promoting the Quran among users of various social platforms.

Launching a Quranic education course for the public and establishing international societies of Nahj al-Balagha and Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya were among other announced plans.
