Winners in different categories were named and awarded at the closing ceremony, Youm7 website reported.
It began with recitation of verses from the Quran and a speech by the Port Said governor in which he thanked the organizers, panel of judges, contestants and viewers.
In the category of Quran memorization, Hareth Khaled Abdul Rahman from Libya and Amina Khaled Abdul Aziz from Egypt jointly won the top title and the runner-up was Abdul Qadir Yusuf from Somalia.
In the beautiful recitation category, Isam Ahmed Hussein from the host country, Ahmed Salim from Tanzania and Tanwir Ahmed from Bangladesh came first to third, respectively.
In religious Ibtihal, Egypt’s Muhammad Ridha Mahmoud bagged the top prize and the second and third ranks went to Omar Abdul Nassir from Lebanon and Ilyas Wardi from Morocco.
At the ceremony, members of the panel of judges, including chairman Sheikh Abdul Karim Salih as well as Sheikh Abdul Fattah Taruti were also honored.
Quran activists from 50 countries took part in this edition of the international Quranic event.

The participating countries included Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Jordan, Nigeria, Indonesia, Uganda, Pakistan, India, the US, Canada, Lebanon, Kenya, Yemen, and Ethiopia.
This year’s edition was named after renowned Egyptian qari Sheikh Shahat Muhammad Anwar (1950-2008).
