Late Quran Memorizer Awarded Top Honor at Egypt Quran Contest

IQNA – An Egyptian Quran memorizer who died in a car crash last week is among the winners in the Port Said international Quran competition.

Egyptian Quran memorizer Suad Rajab Al-Mazin and her mother lost their lives in a car crash while returning from the preliminary round of the 8th International Port Said Quran Competition.

 

In a tragic accident on December 11, Suad Rajab Al-Mazin and her mother lost their lives while returning from the preliminary round of the 8th International Port Said Quran Competition.

Now, the organizing committee has announced her name among the winners of the competition’s preliminary round in the category of memorization of the entire Quran.  

Suad was supposed to compete with 22 other boys and girls in the final round of this category on December 18.

She was a school student from Adfina Village in Beheira Governorate in northern Egypt.

Her melodious recitation in the preliminary round had impressed the panel of judges, making her one of the favorites to win the top title.
