IQNA – The motto of Iran’s International Holy Quran Competition this year has been chosen given the regional developments and the ongoing massacre of Palestinians in Gaza, an official said.

The final round of Iran’s 40th International Quran Competition got underway in Tehran on Thursday with the motto of “One Book, One Ummah, Book of Resistance”.

Speaking in a televised interview on Friday, Head of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mehdi Khamoushi said the motto is related to the regional developments, including the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation that was launched by the Hamas resistance movement and the Zionist regime’s onslaught on the Gaza Strip.

It has been a matter of course that the motto for this major Quranic event is annually selected based on the developments in the Muslim world, he noted.

The cleric added that if all Muslim countries properly played their role in confrontation with the front of Kufr, one of whose major examples is the Zionist regime, the Islamic world would not be witnessing such tragedies in Gaza.
