Peace activists staged a rally in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, in protest at the Israeli crimes against the people of Gaza

The rally, attended by Thai and foreign nationals, was held in front of the US Consulate in the city.

They carried placards and chanted slogans in support of the oppressed people of the Gaza Strip.

They also called for an end to the Israeli atrocities in Gaza, an immediate ceasefire, bringing those committing crimes to justice, an end to occupation of Palestine and support for establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Chiang Mai is the second largest city in Thailand and a major tourist destination.

Back in early March, another demonstration had been organized in the city by Thai and foreign activists to call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
