Hojat-ol-Islam Kazem Sediqi, the interim Friday prayer leader of Tehran, made the remark in his Friday prayer sermon yesterday, saying Muslims attending the pilgrimage should use the venue to raise awareness about the plight of the people in the Gaza Strip.
They should make the world aware of the brutality to those who commit massacres and are supported by the so-called advocates of human rights, he said.
The world should also know that Gaza people are still resisting the Zionist enemy’s aggression despite several months of all-out attacks by the Israeli regime, he stated.
The cleric said the oppressed people of Gaza have learned the lesson of resistance and refusing to concede to oppression from the martyrs of Karbala.
Hojat-ol-Islam Sediqi also referred to the student movements in the West and said university students and professors in the United States have risen up to voice solidarity with Gaza and condemn Washington’s support for the Israeli crimes in the Palestinian enclave.
He slammed the US government’s crackdown on the student protests despite all the slogans in support of human rights and urged Muslims to chant “death to America” in this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.

The Israel regime has attacked the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7. More than 34,900 Palestinians have since been killed in Gaza, mostly women and children, and over 78,500 injured, according to Palestinian health authorities.
Seven months into the Israeli war, vast swathes of Gaza lay in ruins, pushing 85% of the enclave’s population into internal displacement amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine, according to the UN.
Israel is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice. An interim ruling in January said it is "plausible" that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and ordered Tel Aviv to stop such acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
