Malaysia’s National Quran Contest to Be Held in Pahang

IQNA – Malaysia’s National Quran Recitation and Memorization Assembly is scheduled to take place in Pahang this year.

 

The event will be held at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Broadcasting Complex in Kuantan, starting from May 23 and lasting for six days, Bernama reported on Saturday.

The assembly will feature 110 participants, aged between 14 and 25, representing each state with eight participants. This includes two for recitation and six for memorization.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, stated the objective of the assembly is to uphold the teachings of Islam throughout Malaysia.

Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail mentioned that the state government has allocated RM2.734 million for the event, which includes a stipend of RM1,000 for each participant.

Winners of all recitation and memorization categories will receive additional prizes in the form of five-gram gold bars, contributed by the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM).
