It will be attended by a number of eminent Quran reciters of the country, it added.
The Quranic program is slated for Thursday, May 16, the ministry said, Al-Watan daily reported.
It will feature the recitation of Surah Al-Kahf of the Holy Quran.
Among the Quran reciters planned to attend the event are Sheikh Ahmed Ahmed Nuaina, Sheikh Ahmed Tamim al-Maraghi, Sheikh Taha al-Numani, Sheikh Fathi Khalif and Sheikh Ibrahim al-Fashani.
The Sayyida Zaynab Mosque, which had been closed for restoration works a few months ago, was reopened in a ceremony on Sunday.
It is one of the largest and most famous mosques in Egypt’s capital.
