The celebration, held between Haft Tir and Valiasr squares, commenced at 4:00 PM and extended well into the evening, past the Maghrib and Isha prayers.

The event was marked by the presence of over 400 moukebs that offered a variety of services and hospitality, with some 12,000 volunteers helping to host visitors.

As the day transitioned to night following the congregational prayers, the squares were alive with a special program featuring religious scholars and national figures.

The air was filled with the sound of hymns and cultural presentations as the program received an enthusiastic reception from the gathered crowd.

A highlight for the younger attendees was the array of children's game booths, which proved to be a hit among families.

The Tehran Municipality officials noted that the festivities were particularly tailored to captivate the city's youth, with a focus on engaging children and teenagers through religious hymns, interactive games, and a variety of activities designed to create a memorable experience for the younger generation.

Prominent cleric Hojat-ol-Islam Shahab Moradi addressed the event, noting that the eternal light of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) has been illuminating the world and will continue to do so indefinitely.

“We, as Iranians, are deeply grateful to the Almighty God for the blessed presence of Imam Reza (AS) in this country,” he said.

A visit to Imam Reza (AS) has the power to “dispel sorrow” from the hearts, stressed the preacher.

Moreover, the act of sending greetings to the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), particularly to Imam Hussein (AS), holds an “incomparable” value in this world, he said.

The event comes as Shia Muslims in Iran and across the world are marking the Karamat celebrations.

They mark the ten days between the birth anniversaries of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) and Imam Reza (AS), the daughter and son of the 7th Shia Imam.

Thursday, May 9, was the first day of the lunar Hijri month of Dhul Qaada, which marked the birthday anniversary of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA).

Imam Reza’s (AS) birthday anniversary will be celebrated on the 11th day of Dhul Qaada, which falls on Monday, May 20, this year.
