The plan aims to facilitate the movement of a large number of worshippers, according to Saudi media outlets.
The strategy includes the designation of 60 corridors, with 38 main ones and eight for emergencies, to ensure smooth ingress and egress within and around the mosque in Medina, a city frequented by Muslims worldwide.
Last week, approximately 7.8 million worshippers attended prayers at the mosque, which offers a range of multilingual services, including designated areas for the elderly and physically challenged individuals, and the distribution of Zamzam water.
It is anticipated that over 2 million Muslims globally will participate in this month’s Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

Upon arrival at Medina’s international airport, they are greeted in their native languages and given commemorative gifts before proceeding to the Prophet’s Mosque for prayers and a visit to Al Rawda Al Sharifa, which houses the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Last week, over 304,000 worshippers prayed at Al Rawda Al Sharifa, accessing the site via a specific entry route.
In 2023, more than 280 million Muslims offered prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque, as per official data.
