Turkish President Honors Quran Memorizer at Istanbul’s Hagia Sophia Mosque

IQNA – A ceremony was held at the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque in Istanbul to honor memorizers of the Holy Quran.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the event Friday night, according to the country’s media. 

Those honored are students of Imam Khateeb School who have completed a Quran memorization course.

They received certificates that shows the competition of the Quran memorization course.   

Among the participants were also Mohammad Asidcan, the top winner of Turkey’s 2024 Quran recitation competition, some other Quran reciters, the imam of the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, and several senior political officials.

A number of Quran learners chorally recited verses from the Holy Book at the ceremony.

The Holy Quran is the only religious Scripture that is memorized by its followers.
