IQNA – A spokesman for Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, called on Hajj pilgrims to remember Gaza and Palestine during the Hajj rituals.

In a message to those taking part in Hajj, Abu Ubaid said that the Palestinian resistance is doing Jihad (struggle on the path of God) against the enemies of God and the occupiers on behalf of the Muslim Ummah.

He urged the pilgrims to pray for the resistance and the people in the Gaza Strip and Palestine and remember them in Hajj.

Referring to the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation launched by Gaza resistance forces against the Israeli regime, he said the operation was launched in defense of the third holiest site in Islam, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and now the Hajj rituals provide an opportunity to remind the two billion Muslims in the world of the need to confront an enemy that has been targeting Al-Aqsa and continues its Judaization attempts there.

Following the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation in October 7, the Israeli regime waged a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

More than 37,000 Palestinians have since been killed in Gaza, most of them women and children, and nearly 84,500 others injured, according to local health authorities.

Eight months into the Israeli war, vast tracts of the Gaza Strip lay in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine.

Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, whose latest ruling ordered Tel Aviv to immediately halt its operation in the southern city of Rafah, where over a million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.
