Hajj Quranic Convoy Showcasing Iranian Qaris’ Capabilities to Other Countries’ Muslims
Seyed Parsa Angoshtan told IQNA that Hajj is the largest gathering of Muslims from all over the world.
There is no other event like Hajj in which representatives of all countries are present, he noted.
This makes the responsibility of the Hajj Quranic convoy heavier, because they serve as the cultural envoys of the Islamic Republic of Iran that have missions in the field of promoting the Quran, the Iranian qari said.
“One of our responsibilities is showcasing the capability of Shia qaris in this enormous gathering,” he stated, noting that the qaris’ good and elegant performances would thwart negative propaganda in different media against Shia Islam.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he expressed great joy for being a member of the delegation and hoped that he and other members of the convoy would have a perfect performance until the end of their mission.
Angoshtan, who is 25 years old, comes from Iran’s northern province of Mazandaran.
He began reciting the Quran by imitating the recitations of late Egyptian qari Sheikh Shahat Anwar and has enhanced his Quranic skills by learning from a number of Iranian Quran experts.
He has won a number of ranks in different Quran competitions in Iran.

Angoshtan is representing Iran in the international Quran competition of Turkey, whose preliminary round was held virtually two weeks ago.
Every year millions of Muslims from around the world gather in the holy city for the annual Hajj.
Iran also sends pilgrims as well as a groups of Quran activists, known as the Noor Hajj Delegation.
The members of the delegation hold Quranic programs, including Quran recitation session for the pilgrims in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.
