Hajj Quranic Convoy Aiming to Strengthen Muslim Unity: Iranian Qari

IQNA – A member of Iran’s Hajj Quranic convoy said the philosophy of Hajj is promoting unity among Muslims around the world and this is what the Iranian Quranic delegation pursues.

Hamid Safadri, who has joined the convoy for the first time, told IQNA that all members of the group try to move on the path of enhancing Islamic unity. 

He added that by holding Quranic circles for Hajj pilgrims from different countries, the convoy also demonstrates prominent status of the Quran in the Islamic Republic of Iran.  

Thanking God for having the opportunity to be on this spiritual journey, Safdari noted that he will be in the holy sites for 45 days to perform Quran recitations.

He hoped that he and other members of the delegation would have good and high quality performances and properly fulfil their mission.

Safdari is from the northeastern holy city of Mashhad. Born in 1990 in Mashhad, he started learning Quran recitation with recitation master Seyed Abdol Reza Moini in 2001.

The young qari has traveled to many countries for Quran recitation and participating in international Quran competition.

In 2006, he came 4th in the recitation category of Libya’s international Quran competition.

Every year millions of Muslims from around the world gather in the holy city for the annual Hajj.

Iran also sends pilgrims as well as a groups of Quran activists, known as the Noor Hajj Delegation.

The members of the delegation hold Quranic programs, including Quran recitation session for the pilgrims in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.
