Copenhagen-based small-ship company Albatros Expeditions will launch the cruise.

For the first time, the family-owned expedition line will offer the Halal-certified cruise to the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula with Halal meals, alcohol-free environment and ladies-only saunas for Muslim travelers keen to explore the Last Continent.

“This is the first time that an expedition vessel will operate a fully Halal-certified kitchen in Antarctica – a milestone in the history of expedition cruising,” the company said in a statement.

“Non-Muslim guests should take note that non-Halal food and beverages, such as pork and alcoholic products, will not be served on this voyage. As this is a halal voyage, we remind guests that bringing outside food or beverages onboard is not permitted,” Albatros Expeditions added.
