Like previous years, Shia Muslims from Britain and other countries participate in the religious events.

Addressing the first mourning rituals for Persian speakers at the center this year, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Hashem Mousavi, the Imam of the Islamic Center of England, stressed that mourning the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) in the month of Muharram is the Seerah of the Infallible Imams (AS).
He added that reviving the religion and Islamic values, enhancing unity, promoting moral virtues, and spreading the culture of Ashura are among the outcomes of holding mourning rituals in Muharram.
