Senior Iranian Cleric, Chinese Muslim Official Meet in Kazan

IQNA – Ayatollah Ali Reza Aarafi, the director of Iran’s Islamic seminaries held talks with the head of the Association of China’s Muslims.

During the meeting, held in Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, Ayatollah Aarafi stressed the need for preventing unilateralism and confronting arrogance and oppression in the world. 

He also called for promotion and deepening of ties and exchange of experiences among Muslims and Islamic and religious centers of the BRICS group of countries.

He referred to scholarly and scientific centers in the Islamic Republic of Iran and said in addition to universities, there are Islamic seminaries that have a brilliant history of expanding knowledge in fields of Islamic sciences and humanities.  

The Chinese Muslim official, for his part, expressed readiness for developing cooperation with Iran in religious and scholarly fields.

Yan Famin elaborated on the activities of the Chinese Muslim Department and highlighted the capacities and grounds for religious and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
