Yemen’s Ansarullah Offers Condolences on Hamas Leader’s Assassination

IQNA – The Yemeni popular movement Ansarullah expressed condolences over the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement.

In a message on Wednesday, Ansarullah described the assassination as a terrorist crime and a violation of international laws. 

Haniyeh has been assassinated in an attack in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

He had traveled to Tehran to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced earlier on Wednesday morning that Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed when their residence was struck in Tehran.

The statement indicated that the attack is under investigation, with results expected to be announced later in the day.

Mousa Abu Marzook, a member of Hamas’ political bureau, denounced the assassination as a “cowardly action” that would not go unanswered.

Various Palestinian groups have called for sweeping protests and a general strike across the occupied Palestinian territories in condemnation of the assassination.
