Mohammad Hossein Behzadfar and Mohammad Mahdi Rezaei have traveled to Saudi Arabia via Doha, Qatar.
They will compete in the categories of memorization of the entire Quran and memorization of 15 Juzes (parts) of the Holy Book respectively.
The international Quranic event will officially kick off in the Holy city of Mecca on Saturday, August 10.
It will be held in a total of five categories, featuring different levels of Quran memorization.
Organizers had earlier announced that prizes include sums of SR500,000, SR450,000, and SR400,000 for the top three placements.
The event will conclude with a ceremony at the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
Iran has sent its representatives to the Saudi Quranic event for the first time after a long time.
The organizers sent an official letter inviting Iran to take part in the contest.
