Mecca Int’l Quran Award: Finalists’ Competition Wraps Up

IQNA – The ten finalists’ performances concluded at the 44th edition of the King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation of the Holy Quran.

A contender in the 44th edition of the King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation of the Holy Quran in Mecca.

 

Those making it to the finals are from Yemen, Iran, Burkina Faso, Palestine, Hong Kong, the US, Burundi, Russia, Congo and Ethiopia.

They had been selected from 174 contestants from 123 countries to compete in the final round.  

Their competition concluded on Friday morning and the winners of the top ranks will be announced at the closing ceremony at the Grand Mosque in Mecca on Wednesday.

The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has organized the competition at the Mecca Grand Mosque between Safar 5 and 17, 1446 AH (August 9 and 21, 2024).

Contestants are vying for honors in five categories, with a total prize purse of SAR4 million.
