IQNA – Various events are planned to be held during the upcoming international Quran competition for women in Tanzania, including the unveiling of a new electronic Quran.

Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan will officiate the inauguration ceremony of an international Quran competition for women on August 31.

The event will mark the launch of a new electronic Quran, according to Tanzania’s Mufti Abubakr Zubeir.

He called for widespread public participation, underscoring the Quranic event’s focus on unity and national solidarity.

“The Quran belongs to everyone. We invite the public to join us in large numbers to pray for peace and support this unique event dedicated to women,” he stated.

The Muslims’ Council of Tanzania has also announced plans to utilize the World Women’s Quran Recitation Competition as a platform to educate the public about more decay.

This initiative aims to tackle the increasing concerns over moral issues that have been affecting the Tanzanian society.

Sheikh Nuhu Mruma, the council’s secretary, said on Tuesday that the contest, being held for the first time in Tanzania, will serve as a key forum for discussing and addressing the nation’s moral challenges.

He said Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan will officiate the inauguration ceremony on August 31.

The event will feature participants from 12 countries, he noted.

“The Quran offers comprehensive guidance and teachings. By promoting a deeper understanding and adherence to its principles, we hope to reduce and eliminate moral decay in our society,” Mruma said.

He explained that the event will include various speeches and discussions on moral issues alongside the competition.
