Iran to Keep Supporting Palestinian People, Resistance: FM

IQNA – Iran’s new foreign minister vowed that country will continue to back the people and resistance movements of Palestine during the new administration’s terms.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held a phone conversation with Khalil al-Hayya, a member of the Hamas Political Bureau, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024

 

Abbas Araqchi also said the Islamic Republic backs any ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip that is accepted by the Palestinian people and resistance. 

He made the remarks in a phone conversation with Khalil al-Hayya, a member of the Hamas Political Bureau, on Tuesday evening, according to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Araqchi further commended the steadfastness of the people of Gaza and resistance fighters of Palestine in the face of the Israeli regime’s brutal aggression and atrocities that have continued for 11 months.

He expressed confidence that the ultimate victory belongs to the people of Palestine, with whom the Islamic Republic will stand until the end.   

During the conversation, al-Hayya congratulated Araqchi on his appointment as Iran’s foreign minister.

He also briefed the Iranian top diplomat on the latest status of Gaza ceasefire talks and the Israeli regime’s attempts to change the status quo of Al-Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds.

Al-Hayya thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support for the cause of Palestine and the Palestinians’ resistance against the Zionist regime’s crimes.

He also appreciated the efforts of former Iranian foreign minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, who was martyred in a helicopter crash in May, in backing the Palestinian people’s resistance.
