Interdisciplinary Quranic Studies Conference A Unique Opportunity for Researchers
The Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran is going to organize the second International Conference on Interdisciplinary Quranic Studies early next year.
Farzaneh Rouhani, a faculty member of the university’s Interdisciplinary Quranic Studies Research Center, said those who have worked in interdisciplinary Quranic fields can present their works for criticism and analysis at the conference.
She said scholars and researchers from different academic fields can take part in the conference as members of the scientific committee or jury panel.
This would be a great opportunity for the researchers to deepen and broaden the scope of their studies, she stated.
She urged those working in interdisciplinary Quranic fields to use the opportunity.
‘Theoretical discussions’, ‘Quran and science’ and ‘Quranic studies and contemporary challenges’ are the three main categories of the upcoming conference.
Methodology of interdisciplinary Quranic studies, systems of Quran, critique and investigation of questions and doubts about the miracle of the Quran are among the themes in first category.
In the second category, Quran and natural sciences, Quran and basic sciences, Quran and humanities, and modern tools and methods in Quranic studies will be discussed.
Quran and lifestyle, Quranic strategies to confront violence, racism, etc, and Quranic strategies for good governance, sustainable development, protection of the environment, etc will be investigated in the third category.
A call for papers has been issued with the deadline for submitting abstracts announced to be November 5.

Researchers and scholars willing to take part in the international event have until December 20 to submit their full papers to the secretariat of the conference.
The international conference will be held at Shahid Beheshti University’s international conferences hall on February 12-13, 2025.
