Quran Contest Held in Pakistan’s Rawalpindi in Memory of Resistance Martyrs

IQNA – A competition on recitation of the Holy Quran was held in Rawalpindi, Pakistan in memory of the martyrs of resistance.

The Iranian Culture House in the city organized the event in cooperation with the Iranian Cultural Center in Islamabad. 

More than 40 qaris competed in two sections for men and women and two age groups of below 16 and 16 and older, according to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.

The panel of arbiters included a number of Quran experts like Qari Munawar Khan Ziaei and Hussein Chaqami.

The winners were awarded at a ceremony that took place in the Culture House.

Head of the Culture House Mehdi Taheri addressed the ceremony, stressing that the Islamic resistance is derived from the profound teachings of the Holy Quran that teach humans not to submit to oppression and tyranny.

He also underlined the need for strengthening unity among Muslims based on the commandments of the Quran in order to confront the Muslim world’s challenges and defend the truth and justice.
