The strike, which targeted a house on Old Gaza Street around 6 a.m. local time, struck while residents, including many women and children, were inside, according to Al Jazeera.
Eyewitnesses describe the atmosphere as quiet before the attack, apart from the sound of drones and fighter jets overhead. Without warning, the house was bombed, killing those who had sought refuge there after being displaced from other areas of northern Gaza.
The casualties include families that had previously evacuated Jabalia and the nearby Jabalia refugee camp, relocating in hopes of finding safety.
