IQNA – The Iraqi resistance movement An-Nujaba welcomed arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court for two Israeli regime officials for their role in the Gaza genocide.

The movement described the ICC’s move against Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant as historic.

“The historic decision by the ICC to issue arrest warrants for two criminal murderers, Netanyahu and Gallant, at a time when the treason and indifference of many of the world’s regimes and governments have come to an unprecedented point, is a stern slap in the face of the world arrogance,” Hussein al-Musawai, the media deputy of the movement said.

He added that the ruling was a clear call to the world community to help the people of Palestine and Lebanon and enhance efforts to put an end to the crimes being committed by the Israeli regime with US support.

Al-Musawi said the ruling is also an opportunity for those who still rely on US support to reconsider their approach to regional and international developments.

The ICC judges said on Thursday that there were “reasonable grounds” to believe Netanyahu and Gallant “intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival”.

The court also said the men bore “criminal responsibility” for war crimes and crimes against humanity during the bloody onslaught on Gaza.

The Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, which began in October last year, has killed more than 44,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured many more.
