Promotion of Quranic Lifestyle Main Goal of Quran Contests: Iran’s Awqaf Chief

IQNA – The head of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization referred to the promotion of Quranic lifestyle as the main purpose of Quran competitions.

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mehdi Khamoushi made the remark in a meeting of the Supreme Headquarters of Coordination of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Quran Competitions, held in Tehran on Wednesday. 

The meeting, organized to discuss the organization of the final round of Iran’s 47th National Quran Competition and the country’s 41st International Quran Competition, was also attended by Hamid Majidimehr, the head of the Awqaf Organization’s Quranic Affairs Center, Shobeyr Firouzian, the Culture Ministry’s Quran and Etrat deputy, and a number of other Quranic officials.

Hojat-ol-Islam Khamoushi noted that Iran’s Quran competitions are held annually by Quran experts and institutions with the participation of Quranic elites.

He described the contests as a credit to the Muslim world’s resistance against the domination system.

He noted that the holy city of Mashhad will host the international competition this year, hoping that it would open a new chapter in organizing the prestigious event.

Elsewhere at the meeting, Majidimehr presented a report on preparations for organizing the two Quranic events, noting that the final round of Iran’s 47th National Quran Competition will take place in the northwestern city of Tabriz from December 2 to 19.

He also appreciated the cooperation of different organizations and institutions in organizing the Quran contests and highlighted the role of the media in promoting the Quranic events.
