Colonel Mehdi Meydani, the head of the Army’s Quran, Etrat and Prayer Department, made the remark on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 44th national Quran competition for the Army’s staff and conscripts.
The final stage of the contest was launched in the northern city of Noshahr on Saturday.
Colonel Meydani noted that the competition has been organized by the Army annually since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in the country.
He said more than 400 members of the Army, from the Ground Force, the Air Force, the Navy, and the General Staff, are taking part in the contest.
They compete in different categories like memorization and recitation of the Quran and Quranic concepts, he stated.

The official added that top winners will represent the Army in the national Quran competition for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Armed Forces next year.
