Winners of Iran’s 47th National Quran Contest Awarded

IQNA – After months of activity, Iran’s 47th National Quran Competition came to a close in a ceremony on Thursday morning.

Winners of different categories in the men’s section were announced and awarded at the ceremony, which was held at the Grand Musalla (prayer hall) of Tabriz with the participation of a number of Quranic, religious and political officials. 

The panel of judges named Mohammad Mehdi Rezaei from Isfahan the top winner in memorization of the entire Quran.

In Quran recitation, Seyed Jassem Mousavi from Isfahan bagged the top prize while in Tarteel, Mehdi Foroughi from Qom came first.

Seyed Mehdi Banihashemi from Isfahan, Amir Hadi Bairami from Ardebil and Mohammad Hossein Kohan Mehrabad from Khorasan Razavi were the top winners in memorization of 20 Juzes (parts) of the Quran, memorization of the entire Quran for youths under 18 and Quran recitation for youths under 18, respectively.

The final stage of the 47th National Quran Competition was held in Tabriz.

The contest is one of Iran’s most prestigious Quranic events.

Organized by Iran's Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, the competition aims to promote Quranic culture and highlight the role of divine teachings in society.

Top winners of the contest will represent Iran in international Quran competitions across the world.
