In a ceremony honoring 1,000 male and female Quran memorizers on Saturday, Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani announced the initiative, emphasizing the significant role these individuals play in preserving religious and moral values.
“These memorizers are the custodians of knowledge and practice. They must serve as role models of honesty and generosity because the Quran nurtures the soul and refines behavior,” Al-Mashhadani stated during the event, as reported by Alsumaria News.
He highlighted Parliament's commitment to drafting a law specifically designed to guarantee the rights of Quran memorizers, praising their role in spreading Islamic teachings and promoting high moral standards.
Al-Mashhadani described the graduation ceremony of 1,000 Quran memorizers as a “living testimony to the vitality of the Islamic nation” and lauded the honorees as “custodians of a great trust and a source of pride for everyone.”

The ceremony also featured Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, who congratulated the participants and praised the “Hafiz Rabbani” initiative.
This recently launched national program aims to encourage Quran memorization and promote Islamic values throughout Iraq.
